Now that we have our Field Study dates and locations finalized, we need to start getting parent volunteers! Below are the schedules and locations of each Field Study. Students should have been notified which study they were assigned to in Science, but please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about which location your student has been assigned. We are hoping to arrange bus transportation for both the Oak Island Field Study and the Ruby Lake Field Study (Meadowscaping will take place at SIA) so you shouldn't have to worry about transporting wed, muddy students. Please note that the dates and times vary a bit from location to location, so look closely!
Also, please keep in mind that although these dates are fairly permanent, with projects like these, nothing is ever "set in stone" and we may end up having to change them down the road. However, we will try to give you as much notice as we possibly can, as we realize that you are taking time out of your busy lives to help out.
We are also looking for a few volunteers that would be interested in helping out during Math Tuesday-Friday, from 8:45-9:30 in the morning. Expertise in math is not a requirement! We just need some patient, helpful, kind adults for some one-on-one math work (we will provide all the materials!).
Please contact me, or your student's homeroom teacher, if you are available to volunteer on any of these dates! We'd love to have you as often as you can make it, even if it's not the Field Study that your student is working on! Thanks for all that you do! We certainly wouldn't be able to make this kind of learning happen without your help.
