6th and 3rd Grade Partner Garden Harvest
Earlier this spring the 6th and 3rd graders partnered up to plant a small salad garden. Today, after a fun morning of skating, we harvested our kale, lettuce, radishes, dill, and peas and made salads together! All of the student tried all of the produce raw first (wow, we have awesomely adventurous kiddos!), then we made small salads and enjoyed our bounty. This partnership was a fantastic way to get students excited about gardening and (in addition to the 6th graders partnership with 2nd graders) has left 6th graders excited to continue garden projects when they return as 7th graders in the fall. Thanks to Ms. Shannon and the 3rd graders for being great garden buddies!
6th and 2nd Grade Pesto Party
Today the 6th and 2nd graders harvested their basil and learned how to make pesto (and, of course, ate some!). 2nd graders are also looking forward to taking their plants home and sharing pesto recipes with their families. Such a great wrap up party for our partnership!
