Great week of researching and writing for all grades in Social Studies! The students' choice research projects are really coming together well; this week we focused on refining outlines, keeping track of our most valuable/reliable sources, and working through initial versions of our rough drafts. Students were encouraged to develop a working thesis and begin writing the body sections of their paper. I was able to conference with students to provide revision support and we should all be in a great position to have our full rough drafts ready to turn in on Monday (*full rough draft means adding the intro and conclusion to the already completed body paragraphs).
Next week, we'll wrap up our works cited pages for all grades, work on parenthetical citations for 8th graders, and have our final copies and small group sharing of knowledge on Thursday. Should be fun!
