Here's an overview of some recent happenings and where we'll be headed to close out the year in 8th grade.
This amazing 8th grade class has a passion for all things performance, so why not let this shine in our final unit together?
The 8th graders are finishing the year in our Medieval Europe and Renaissance Europe unit. We've concluded some initial readings, and will soon be delving into some independent research in support of our culminating project. The students have decided to write, produce, direct, and star in a to-be-determined film/show about this era in European History. I don't want to give too much away as the students are still in the brainstorm writer's room mode, but the final product may or may not be a satirical take on crime, punishment, and social structure under the Feudal System (think a dash of Law & Order with a sprinkle of Saturday Night Live and the perfect amount of 8th grade wit and creativity)--should be awesome!
